MPD Design Build was formed with the express goal of providing high quality fabrication and design services for like minded clients. They produce high quality custom cabinetry for homes in a broad range of materials and finishes. They also produce complex architectural interior build outs for both homes and commercial spaces. 

Our Principals

Scot Spratford

Scot began his design career shortly after he earned a Masters Degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He has designed exhibitions, furniture, lighting and a broad range of housewares. This broad range of experience brings a great sensitivity to the complexities of the design process which Scot continues to develop and refine. He also incorporates this considerable experience into his planning and fabrication process ensuring that the original intent of the design is fully realized in the final product. Scot has a great passion for both design and craft and takes great delight in this work. 

Curt Meissner

Curt studied at Pratt Institute where he earned a Masters Degree in Industrial Design. He has had wide ranging experience designing exhibitions for cultural institutions around the world. This work afforded him the opportunity collaborate with a range of design professionals including architects, media designers, graphic designers, lighting designers and content specialists. He developed a keen understanding of the complexities of creating large scale public spaces and brings this awareness to his work with MPD Design Build. Throughout his time as a designer he remained active building furniture and exhibition elements. He his deeply committed to craft and thrives when challenged to solve difficult design and fabrication challenges. 

Michael Whitney

After Michael Whitney completed his undergraduate degree at Pratt Institute he began working independently as well as in partnerships fabricating furniture, architectural elements and artist installations. His independent sculpture, furniture and set designs have been enjoyed by a diverse audience and  the design / build clients come from a huge spectrum of galleries, theaters, museums, retail stores, office spaces and private residences. Such a varied customer base has given him the ability to work within budgets and design parameters and to solve design challenges from many vantage points.
